Some flags aren't hard to identify on their own — they're hard to identify next to the ONE other flag that shares their layout or palette. Chad's and Romania's vertical tricolors differ by a single shade of blue. Indonesia's and Monaco's flags are both a plain red-over-white bicolor, at different proportions. This challenge puts 147 genuinely confusable pairs side by side, two at a time, and asks you to pick the one that's actually being named.
Each pair is pulled from the “often confused with” notes already written on the two countries' own flag pages — the same real, specific reason (a proportion, a missing symbol, a shade) that makes that particular pair hard to tell apart, not a generic “these are both tricolors” placeholder.
