Privacy Policy

Like most websites, VexiWiki uses aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics (page views, referring sites, rough geographic region, device type) to understand which flags and quizzes people actually use, so the most-visited pages get the most editorial attention. This data is collected in aggregate and is not tied to your name or email address — we don't know who you are from an analytics dashboard, only that "someone in a given region viewed the Brazil flag page."

If you use the contact form, we collect whatever you type into it — your name, email address, and message — solely to respond to you. If you support the site financially or purchase the World Flags Learning Pack, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe); we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded but do not see or store your full card details, which never touch our servers directly.

The site may set a small number of cookies or use similar local-storage mechanisms for basic functionality (such as remembering quiz progress within a session) and for the analytics described above. These are not used to build an advertising profile of you, and VexiWiki does not run third-party ad-retargeting scripts. You can block or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so may reset in-progress quiz state but won't otherwise limit what you can read on the site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties, and we don't require account creation to read any page on the site. Any information you voluntarily submit through the contact form or a donation/purchase flow is used only for the purpose you submitted it — replying to your message, or processing your payment and delivering the product you bought.

Payment processing runs through Stripe, whose own privacy policy governs data it collects during checkout. Hosting and delivery infrastructure may log standard web-server data (IP address, request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes, as essentially all hosting providers do; this is not cross-referenced with any other data we hold about you.

VexiWiki is often used by students and by teachers in a classroom setting, but the site itself does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and no account or sign-in is required to read a flag page, take a quiz, or use a guide. The only place a young visitor could submit personal information is the contact form, and we recommend a parent, guardian, or teacher supervise or send that message on a student's behalf if the message involves any personal details.

Messages sent through the contact form are kept only as long as needed to address the correction, feedback, or licensing request, and aren't repurposed for marketing. Aggregate analytics data is retained on a rolling basis to spot longer-term trends (which continents' pages get the most traffic, for example) rather than kept indefinitely at the individual-visit level. You can request that we delete any personal information you've submitted — such as a past contact-form message — by emailing the address below; because analytics data isn't tied to your identity in the first place, there's typically nothing to delete on that side.
