All Flags

Every UN member state plus notable territories in one browsable directory, sorted so you can jump straight to a specific country's flag and story.

This is the full list — all 196 sovereign-state flags in the database, grouped by continent below and sorted alphabetically within each group. Every country name links to its own flag page: the real story behind the design (why those colors, what the central symbol represents, whether the flag has changed since independence), a dated fact card, and the capital city alongside it.

If you already know which country you're after, the fastest route is the search box on the homepage or the alphabetical lists below. If you're browsing without a specific country in mind, the continent hubs are usually more useful — they compare design conventions across a region instead of listing flags in isolation, which surfaces the actual patterns (a shared independence-era color palette, a recurring symbol lineage) that a flat A-to-Z list hides. And if it's a specific visual element you noticed rather than a country, the flags-by-feature index groups flags by what's actually on them instead of where they're from.

A handful of flags on this list are among the most visually confused in the world — Chad and Romania, Indonesia and Monaco, Ireland and Côte d'Ivoire — and each of those country pages calls out the specific detail (a slightly different shade, a different aspect ratio) that actually distinguishes them, rather than leaving you to guess from a thumbnail.

The continent groupings below use the same seven regions as the continent hubs — Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, and Antarctica — and every flag is filed under the continent its country actually sits on today, not where a former colonial administration was based. Country counts next to each region heading are exact rather than rounded, and they update automatically as new country pages are added, so the numbers you see here always match what's actually published.
